You Can Take the Kids Out of Venice...

Day 31

Today we got back from Venice with just enough time that our professors could hold us accountable for not doing homework.  Just because we had left Venice though, doesn't mean that Venice had left us.

Since Carnevale is one of Venice's most lauded attractions, masks and other paraphernalia are sold all year round.  One of my friends, Bismar, couldn't come with us when we went out in Rome for Carnevale, so he decided to get a mask and cape in Venice and do a little parading of his own around the convent tonight.

Bismar ready to party.
Though we couldn't do much because it was rather late and we both had classes early in the morning, we decided that his costume should be appreciated by all of our friends rather than just the two of us.  We spent the next half hour going from room to room and scaring anyone who would open their door.  Opening your door to a dark hallway and that getup was enough to make most of our friends jump.  Anyone who jumped immediately joined our parade to watch how others would react.  It was great fun, and it would have been a shame to end our weekend with something so mundane as homework.

Ciao
J
