Day 85
This week was uneventful in the abroad sense, but stressful in the study part. With barely three weeks left in the semester, I had to started buckling down my work here and had to look toward home with Hamilton's fall class registration period upon me. Fortunately I got into all the classes I wanted with little trouble and have an excellent schedule on top of it. Now all I have to worry about is housing lottery next Sunday (which is actually the most stressful day of any student's college career. A thesis presentation is a cake walk compared to this day.)
To round off my Hamilton featured week, my friend, Jenn, is visiting with her family. After tackling her in a bear hug, I stole her away minutes after she arrived and showed her my favorite places around Rome. I had more freedom than when I showed my sister around because we were on a looser schedule. I also noticed that most of my favorite places revolve around food: "Let's go see the orange grove, we'll have a panino picnic!" "Wanna see the Trevi fountain? There's a great gelato place nearby!" "The Spanish Steps? Lets pick up some awesome tiramisu on the way!"
It was a great day, even if we were both dead on our feet by the end of it. But we hadn't been together for 2 hours (even though we only just started catching up and hadn't even seen that much of the city yet), before we started planning on coming back together. (We're thinking graduation presents to ourselves. Tara Hansen, if you're reading this, be prepared. We're coming for you too.)
Ciao
J
